The British Consulate-General, Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Competition Association launched a scheme to assist local Hong Kong firms and Hong Kong SMEs to access pro-bono legal advice with matters related to the Competition Ordinance.
The objective of the scheme is to enable local Hong Kong law firms to access high-quality competition law guidance on specific cases, by contacting a network of experienced competition lawyers, who agreed in principle to povide a number of hours of free advice as part of the scheme.
Local law firms, Hong Kong barristers and SMEs who encounter a competition law issue reaching beyond their ability can contact any competition firm in the list below, and attempt to determine whether the competition firm can provide advice in this particular matter (subject to constraints such as capacity and conflicts).
The British Consulate-General, Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Competition Association have no involvement in the day-to-day functioning of this scheme, beyond the establishment and maintenance of the list below. Neither the Consulate nor the Association will be providing any legal services or legal advice, pro-bono or else.
If you have any questions about this scheme, please contact Karen Williams, Vice-Consul of the UK in the Hong Kong SAR, or Knut Fournier, Chairperson of the Hong Kong Competition Association.
The following law firms have agreed to provide a certain number of hours of free legal advice on competition law. Do not hesitate to contact them directly:
